INTRODUCTION The theme of this Conference - promoted by the Laboratory Architecture, Subjectivity and Culture LASC / Proarq - is the DIVERSITY OF SUBJECTIVITIES in the field of ambiances, which refers to the search for innovative strategies for the understanding the cultural dynamics on the small daily scale - which foments every large and small city. For the development of this International Conference LASC counts with the operational and infrastructural support of FAU / UFRJ and with some financial support of CNPq, CAPES PrInt and PROEX (Proarq supporting fund). Insisting on the strengthening of interdisciplinarity for the growth of the reflection and the architectural making by praxis, the proposal comprises the great change of social dialogs in contemporary cities, and for that reason, understands the importance to look for the points that plot the cultural, social and urbanistic entanglement of the small spaces of conviviality, still bequeathed to the sensitive dimension of every human being. This Conference also works in the context of studies that address the consequences of the crisis of subjectivities and the space legitimation that permeates societies, due to the transformations produced by the globalized world and technological acceleration.
EXPECTED PRODUCTS Our greatest expectation, in terms of results to be achieved, lies in an effective contribution to thinking urban interventions in practice, especially in areas, atmospheres and 'obsolete' places, in terms of their uses and meanings for everyday life, as the sub-theme DIVERSITY AND MIXTURE of UIA2020 outlines. For this reason, the proposal of a brief International Conference + workshop, with all due participants of the annual Course titled “Architecture, Subjectivity and Culture: envisioning ambiances through subjectivity V Edition” and participants approved through work proposals submission, will bring the possibility of developing such contributions. We believe that the results of the Conference will be able to place ambiances as a prime factor of urban and architectural design in metropolises.

The Conference has its place of creative action in the development of workshops that will define strategies of action in urban places, selected by the participants, for the application of the "RESENSITIZATIONS" in Rio de Janeiro. These strategies will be defined together with the proposals submitted to the Conference.
