Ethel Pinheiro Santana

Architect and Urban Planner, Associate Professor at the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism/UFRJ since 2006. Young Scientist of Our State - JCNE FAPERJ and Productivity Researcher PQ2 CNPq. Graduated in Architecture and Urbanism from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (2001) - having graduated with Magna Cum Laude - Master's in Architecture (2004) and PhD in Architecture (2010), both from the Graduate Program in Architecture - Proarq/ UFRJ. Coordinator of PROARQ/UFRJ (2020-2024) and Editor-in-Chief of the Journal CADERNOS PROARQ (since 2014). Coordinated the Proarq/UFRJ Editorial Board (2014-2019) and was part of the Board of FAU/UFRJ as Disclosure Coordinator (2014-2018) and Coordinator of Final Graduation Studios (2018-2019).. She works as a professor on the permanent staff of the Graduate Program in Architecture - Proarq/UFRJ. Works in the area of ​​representation in architecture with an emphasis on planning and design of urban space, codified design, design of conception/observation and theory of architecture, with experience in the following subjects: urban ambiences, urban design, social memory, perception of the environment, city ​​- complexity and urban culture.
