Ressensibilizando Cidades . ambiências urbanas e sentidos / Resensitizing Cities . urban Ambiances and Senses
Begin Date: 02/10/2019
End Date: 05/10/2019

"Resensitizing cities. urban ambiances and senses" is part of the preparatory agenda for the World Congress of Architects (UIA 2020), promoted by LASC / Proarq / UFRJ, along with the extension course "Thinking Ambiences for Subjectivity - V Edition".

The event aimed to investigate the practice of urban daily life and the study of life rhythms intertwined with the daily life of cities, on a small scale. Through the look on the senses that influence the uses and appropriations in the urban environment we intend to deepen the thinking about strategies of articulation between the urban experience and the affection in the great metropolises.

There were almost 4 days of workshops + international conference with renowned speakers from the Ambiances network, such as researchers Jean François Augoyard and Jean-Paul Thibaud (Cresson, Grenoble).

The dynamics of the event included the presentation of articles and also the experimentation on the streets through a central result from the workshops.

The Conference, therefore, contributed to urban planners, architects, thinkers and related subjects to discuss about urban issues and human expectations regarding their spaces, perceiving us as a center, actor, builder and mainly part of the elaboration of urban projects. The theme of sensitive urban environments was highlighted, demonstrating the role of humanized and humanizing urban projects for contemporary metropolises, aligned with the thought of human sustainability for the future of our cities.
